Oh man, I have been looking forward to Bayonetta immensely- witches, magical hair, gun-equipped high heels, damn! And you know what? The game really delivers- I'm only up to chapter 3, but I'm loving it- it's sexy, cheeky, over-the-top and it plays as beautifully as it looks (expect a review soon). However, we all realize that somewhere out there, some feminist would open her mouth and spoil this beautiful affair. A quick google search revealed that quite a few feminists have dug their pie-making claws into this game, using the same old arguements- it's objectifing women in the mind of the horny sweaty nerd and alienating female gamers the world over. I hope at this point, you can hear me rolling my eyes.

Now, obviously this applies to all gender portrayals throughout all media, but have feminists ever played games like Final Fantasy, or if we want to directly relate this to Bayonetta, Devil May Cry? Have they ever visited the /cm/ or /y/ boards on 4chan? Have they ever been to Y! Gallery? Have they ever been to Fanfiction.net? You can NOT tell me that Male characters in modern media have not been as objectified as the supposed 'sex objects' you label any decent pair of tits in a piece of media? Let's not forget that the creator of Bayonetta is also the man who gave us Dante, one of the most popular and fangirled male VG characters in history (and one half of the internet's female population's favourite twincest yaoi pairing D

The media caters to the sexual fantasies of both genders equally (hell, Ive seen fanart of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson O_o), it's just when it doesn't appeal to you, you bitch about it. Now I'm going to go back to playing what will be one of the best damn games of the year, and you can get the fuck back to to the kitchen and bake me a pie!
